Dash Cams And The Importance Of Using One >>>
This is not something I’d usually post, but after a recent traffic incident, I thought it would be a good subject to write about.
Are you using a dash cam? If not then you should really consider using one, because they can save you a lot of time and hassle if you should ever be involved in a traffic incident.
I use one myself and just recently I was overtaken by a motorbike in a 30MPH zone, past a speed camera.
He must have been doing at least 50MPH, and I’m sure his intention was to try and get away with speeding whilst having the blame put onto me for it.
Now, I don’t know for sure if the camera went off, but there’s a very good chance that it did, with the speed he was going.
I am expecting a letter through the post for this with a fine attached for something I didn’t do, plus they also give you 6 points on your license.
Because I have a dash cam, though, I have the whole incident on camera and can prove that it was not me that set the speed camera off.
You may be thinking, this is not really a serious traffic incident, and yes there could be a lot worse ones than this, but when a £60-70 fine comes through the post for something you didn’t do, and 6 points added to your license, I would say this is quite serious.
By having a dashcam you have all the evidence you need to prove what really happened in an incident, so insurance companies and law enforcement can see who was at fault.
